Frequently Asked Questions

Q & A's

Q: WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO CLASS?

  • We recommend fitted, comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely and monitor your body alignment and form. We suggest fitted short-sleeve shirts, tank tops or leotard and fitted shorts, leggings, or pants with elastic waist.  Avoid baggy clothing and be sure to pull long hair back for visibility and safety.

  • Shoes are not allowed to be worn in classes. Pilates is usually done barefoot or with grip socks. If you don't have a pair of socks, we have ToeSox available for purchase at our front desk.

Q: HOW LONG ARE YOUR CLASSES?

  • Our Reformer Pilates classes are 50 minutes long.

Q: CAN I SHOW UP LATE TO CLASS?

  • If you are more than 10 minutes late for your scheduled class, your spot may be given to a standby or walk in client which results in forfeiting your class.

Q: DO YOU HAVE CHANGING ROOMS?

  • Yes, we have 1 unisex changing room and shower available for use. We also have toiletries available if you forget to bring them with you!

Q: DO YOU HAVE A LOST & FOUND?

  • Yes, we have a Lost & Found. However, we are not responsible for any personal items lost or damaged. If you lose something, please notify us right away by either phone or email. Items left over a month will be given away for donation.

Q: WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO SEE RESULTS?

  • Improvements can be seen in as little as one month with HardCore Pilates in conjunction with a focus on nutrition and cardio exercise. For maximum results, we recommend you to attend at least 2 or 3 sessions per week.

Q: DO YOU OFFER TRIAL CLASSES?

  • Yes! All of our new clients get 2 complimentary Pilates and 2 complimentary Bounce classes! Please note the expiration for your  classes is 2 weeks after your first visit with us!

Q: HOW DOES PILATES HELP WITH BACK PAIN?

  • Pilates is focussed on improving posture and muscle function. The aim is to lengthen tight muscles that pull the body out of ideal posture and to strengthen the muscles that hold the body in good posture. For example, to help alleviate lower back pain, the hamstrings and hip flexors need to be stretched and the lower abs and glutes will need to be activated. We then use more ‘functional exercises’ (eg squats) to train the body to maintain good posture whilst moving. The same principles apply to postural issues in the upper back and shoulder.

Q: I AM A BEGINNER WHAT CLASS SHOULD I TAKE?

  • If this is your first time doing Pilates, we recommend either a private session or taking one of our beginner's classes first!

Q: DO I NEED TO BRING A SWEAT TOWEL &/OR WATER?

  • We highly recommend staying hydrated throughout your HardCore experience. We have bottled water available for purchase at our front desk or feel free to bring your own!

  • Don’t like a little sweat on your face? Don't worry! - We have you covered! We provide towels for you to use here in the Studio during class. We also have some of our signature towels available for purchase.
